Effective Date: January 1, 2026 | Last Updated: July 6, 2026 | Albert Dental · Overland Park & Olathe, KS

Working Toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA — Ongoing conformance effort, last reviewed July 2026

Our commitment: Albert Dental believes that everyone deserves equal access to dental health information and services, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We are actively committed to ensuring our website is accessible, usable, and inclusive for all visitors.

1 Our Accessibility Commitment

Albert Dental is committed to providing a website that is accessible to all people, including those with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and neurological disabilities. We continually work to improve the user experience for everyone and to apply relevant accessibility standards.

Accessibility is not a one-time project — it is an ongoing effort. We review and test our website regularly, train our team, and update our practices in line with evolving standards and technology.

This statement applies to all pages and content on albertdental.com and associated subdomains.

2 Conformance Status

Our website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG defines how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. You can read the full specification at w3.org/TR/WCAG21 ↗.

Our current conformance status: partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to identify and address these areas.

We review and update this accessibility statement annually. Next scheduled review: July 2027. If you identify an issue before then, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

WCAG 2.1 Principles We Follow

  • Perceivable — Information and interface components are presented in ways users can perceive (e.g., alt text, captions, color contrast)
  • Operable — All functionality is available via keyboard, and users have sufficient time to interact with content
  • Understandable — Content is readable, language is identified, and pages behave predictably
  • Robust — Content is compatible with current and future assistive technologies

3 Technical Specifications

Our website relies on the following technologies for accessibility conformance:

  • HTML5 with semantic markup
  • CSS3 with responsive design
  • JavaScript (with progressive enhancement — core functionality works without JS)
  • WAI-ARIA roles and attributes where applicable

Our website has been tested with the following browsers and assistive technologies:

  • Google Chrome (latest) with NVDA screen reader (Windows)
  • Safari (latest) with VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • Firefox (latest) with JAWS screen reader (Windows)
  • Chrome for Android with TalkBack
  • Keyboard-only navigation (no mouse)

4 Accessibility Features on This Site

The following accessibility features are part of our website’s design:

Descriptive Alt Text
Images are provided with descriptive alternative text so screen reader users can understand their content.
Keyboard Navigation
Interactive elements are designed to be reachable and operable using a keyboard, via Tab, Enter, and arrow keys.
A “Skip to main content” link appears on focus, allowing keyboard users to bypass navigation.
Color Contrast
We aim for text to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for readability.
Responsive Design
The site is designed to be usable across screen sizes, from mobile to desktop.
Labeled Form Fields
Form inputs are designed with associated labels and error messages for screen reader compatibility.
Logical Heading Structure
We use a logical heading hierarchy (H1 to H6) to support screen reader navigation and content structure.
Focus Indicators
Visible focus outlines help keyboard users see where they are on the page.

7 Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, some content may not yet fully meet all guidelines. Known limitations include:

  • Third-party embedded content: Some embedded tools (e.g., Google Maps, third-party scheduling widgets) are provided by external vendors and may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1. We are working with our vendors to improve this.
  • Legacy PDF documents: Older PDF forms may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these or provide accessible alternatives. If you need an accessible version of any document, please contact us and we will provide it.
  • Video captions: Some older video content may not have captions. We are adding captions to all new video content as a standard practice.

We are committed to resolving all known issues as quickly as possible. If you encounter an accessibility barrier not listed here, please let us know.
