Signs Your Child Should See a Dentist Sooner Than You Think
Most parents wait for obvious pain before booking an appointment. By that point the problem is usually bigger, and more expensive, than it needed to be. These are the signs that warrant a call now, not later.
Pain is never normal in a child’s mouth. A toothache almost always means decay has reached the nerve, an abscess is forming, or a tooth is cracking under pressure. Do not wait to see if it resolves on its own, it won’t.
White spots are the earliest visible sign of enamel demineralization, the stage just before a cavity forms. Caught here, the damage can often be reversed with fluoride treatment alone. Left alone, it becomes a filling or worse.
